Sparkling Hexagons

Hi friends. It's been a while since I entered a challenge and even longer since I played in the Moxie Fab World challenges. I finally had some time to make nice CAS card for the challenge. I'm entering this into the Happy for Hexagons challenge. There's still time to play, so you could enter, too!

I recently made my first shaker card. In fact, you can see it in the post under this post. I liked it so much, I wanted to make another.

I cut out the hexagons with my Silhouette Cameo. I then laid it on the card base and traced the hexagons with a pencil so I could see where they would be placed. I then cut out colored paper and pasted it over the pencil traces, assembled the shaker card and added the finishing touches like the sentiment and bling.

Speaking of the sentiment ... it's from Sweet Stamp Shop. You may have seen it on the Moxie Monday post at Moxie Fab World. My friend Emily Branch designed this set and it's absolutely beautiful.

Thanks for looking.

It's A Boy!!

My Paper Sweeties design team mate, Jinny Newlin, just had a baby - a bouncing baby boy named Kaden. In fact, Jinny wrote a beautiful story about her son's birth, which you can read here. Some of us Sweeties Girls are throwing her a virtual baby shower in the form of a blog hop with a baby theme.

I've been chomping at the bit to make a shaker card and I can't think of anything more perfect for a shaker card than a rattle. Now, shaker cards are already interactive, but I added yet another element of interactivity. Behind the rattle is an action wobble. Yep, this rattle really shakes. It shakes, rattles and rolls. Okay, it doesn't roll.

Speaking of rolling ... you really need to roll to the next person in the hop, the lovely and talented Char Cundy. Below is the full hop order.

Thanks for visiting and have a great day!

Paper Sweeties February Release Rewind!

Did you like the releases? Aren't they adorable? I really like the Tea for Two Sweet Cut because it is so versatile. On Wednesday, I shared a card I made using the die. Today I'm sharing a 3D table decoration I made.

I have a five year old who loooooves tea parties. Sometimes, we have little tea parties together. I will make little place settings and decorations to add a special touch and make her feel like she is at an authentic tea party.

I used the Sweet Cut again, but this time I cut two pieces and attached them at the top. I cut a strip of paper the same width as the bottom of the teapot and attached it to the bottom to get the teapot to stand up. For additional dimension, I used the die to trace the teapot image onto honeycomb paper!

The place card/silverware wrapper uses the label from the new Welcome Spring set. I happened to have some cute tea party themed paper that I picked up at Michael's one spot. I cut out some tea cups and a strip of paper to wrap around the napkin. Voila!

Please hop along and enjoy all the gorgeous projects created by my talented teammates:

Before I forget, I want to take a moment to remind you of the brand new rewards program Debbie launched. Earn one reward for every $10 you spend. Once your reward chart - found on the Frequent Shopper Reward Program page - is filled, you get a free stamp set!

Paper Sweeties February Release Party!

Paper Sweeties February release day has arrived!! Now if only spring would arrive. It's been a treacherous winter in Ohio and many other states in the U.S.

In fact, that's why the little birdie in my card is tweeting "Welcome Spring!" Little birdie wants spring to arrive, too. Little birdie and the sentiment are part of the Welcome Spring set, which is available at the store today.

This adorable set is full of adorable spring images and sentiments. Just playing with this set made me feel a little cheery despite all the snow outside.

I am blessed to be on this team with some talented ladies. Please check out their creations, too. When you're done, please head to Paper Sweeties and check out all the new releases!

Paper Sweeties February Release Countdown!

The countdown to new releases at Paper Sweeties continues as we approach release day, which is tomorrow!! Woo hoo!

However, today is Valentine's Day!! Here's a sweet card perfect for the occasion. I used the new Tea for Two Sweet Cut. I have so many plans for this die and if this week wasn't filled with Valentine's Day parties, parent/teacher conferences, and a slew of other things in between, I would show you today. But alas, after making 50 valentines, helping at two class parties and attending two conferences, I was only able to squeeze in this card.

The rest of my team has some awesome projects, too. Please check them out. Here is the lineup.

Paper Sweeties February Release Sneak Peeks!

Release day is just around the corner at Paper Sweeties! I'm giving you just a little sneak of one of the sets called Home Sweet Home. The set comes with two adorable houses and other cute images to create an adorable outdoor scene.

My card uses one of the houses and clouds. I added a brad of a little car and some flowers to finish it off. The sentiment is also from this release. I curved the Welcome stamp to follow along the curve of the tag.

Please visit the rest of the design team's blogs for more sneaks and more great ideas! Then come back tomorrow for more sneaks!!

Paper Sweeties February Inspiration Challenge #16 - 'Be Mine'

It's February 1, which means it's time for another Paper Sweeties Inspiration challenge. This month's is entitled Be Mine. If you're planning to make Valentine's Day cards, why not enter the challenge?

Oh, and if the lack of Paper Sweeties products is what's stopping you, we've taken care of it for you. Paper Sweeties now offers FREE DIGI stamps on the site. Why not grab one right here, and use it on your next Valentine's Day Card?

I was inspired by several things in this photo. I loved the soft pink, brown, red and off white color palette. When I first saw the photo, I immediately picked up on the banner. I also liked the rustic wood floor, so I found some patterned paper that mimics it. Of course, hearts are a must when making a Valentine's Day card! I used stamps from two new sets: Cupcakes and Sprinkles and Sweetie Pie.

Want to see what inspired the rest of my design teammates? Check out their blogs below for some really fabulous ideas!
