Paper Sweeties January Release Rewind!

Okay folks. The Paper Sweeties new releases are out. What do you think? Aren't they super sweet? I love the cupcakes with all the dies. I know I'll be getting a lot of use out that set and die combo!!

This is the last post in celebration of the January releases. You should have arrived from Annette Allen's blog. I have one last project to share with you today. I made a fun treat box shaped like a milk carton. I die cut the box with my Silhouette Cameo, then embellished it with patterned paper and washi tape. After filling it with delicious heart-shaped chocolates, I tied it with a bow and added the tag with a garment pin. The tag uses a sentiment from the Sweetie Pie set. To see all the new releases, click on the What's New section at Paper Sweeties.

Your next stop is Debbie. The hop order is below. I hope you have gotten lots of ideas and inspiration from our projects!

Sweet Stamp Shop January Releases Are Here!

You've heard the buzz. You may have even seen some sneak peeks. The day has arrived. Sweet Stamp Shop is releasing four new sets available in their store today!!

This card features Just the Basics, which includes basic sentiments like Happy Birthday, Happy Valentine's Day, etc. But it also includes some fun expressions like "Dude" and "Eee-gads"! Some of the sentiments sound conversational, which was the inspiration behind my card, designed to look like texting on an iPhone.

I'm highlighting Numbers - Symbols in this card, which I plan to give to someone special in my life who is turning 50 - my husband!! I guess I can't give him too much grief about it because I'm a few short years behind him. Ugh!
Perhaps my favorite set in this release is Anatomy of Love. There are some really cool info graphic type images in this set. I haven't seen any info graphic style sets yet, which is what makes it so special. It's original and unique! I have a feeling this one is going to be a trend setter!
And last, but certainly not least, is Foxy, illustrated by Alyssa Bennett! Isn't he one foxy dude!? Fox are hot right now. In fact, the foxy dude below is so hot, rays are coming out of him!! LOL! I borrowed those from a previous set called Super Mom. The sentiment is from the new Just the Basics set.

Inking It Forward Into 2014!

Happy New Year!! I hope you all had a fun and safe celebration. Personally, I came down with some kind of chest cold and I'm still recovering. Ugh! Fortunately, I don't need my voice for this post because it's GONE!!

With the New Year comes many resolutions. I have a few myself. Yes, it includes a healthier lifestyle. :-) I'm also resolving to start giving some of the cards I'm making. In fact, you may have read a couple installments from my new blog series, Ink It Forward.

I have another post up on the Sweet Stamp Shop blog. I'm featuring an organization called Cards for Hospitalized Kids, which collects and distributes cards to children nationwide who are hospitalized. It was founded by a young lady, Jen Rubino, when she was only 16 years old. Jen spent a lot of time in and out of hospitals since age 11 because of a connective tissue and bone disease. In 2011, after undergoing more than 20 surgeries and enduring a lot of pain, Jen received a handmade card from a hospital volunteer. That card brightened her day and changed her life. It was the inspiration behind Cards for Hospitalized Kids.

I encourage all of you to hop over to the Sweet Stamp Shop blog and read about the organization. I'm also sharing a card over there that I plan to contribute. Below is a card I made for all of you to wish a fantastic 2014. May all your wished come true! Please consider giving some of your handmade cards to the organizations I have profiled. They are doing wonderful things for people and they rely on our talents to help them.

Paper Sweeties January Inspiration Challenge #15

Happy New Years, my friends!! I hope you enjoyed the holidays!

Little Sophie is helping me ring in 2014. Who's Sophie? She is an adorable stamp with a matching die from Paper Sweeties. This is my first post as a design team member and I couldn't be more thrilled.

Today Paper Sweeties hosting a new challenge to create a project inspired by the photo below. Not only was I inspired by the warm color palette, but I loved the little hat precariously perched on that cute little girl's head! I dug through my stash and found a hat-shaped brad that worked perfectly. Sophie is ready to celebrate 2014!

I want to share a sweet story about why I used Sophie in my post. Paper Sweeties has three adorable little girl stamps. With the holidays around the corner, I knew I should only get one, but which one? They are all so stinking cute (and I will eventually add them all to my collection!). I asked my daughter to help me pick out which doll and she chose Sophie. I have a feeling I won't be the only one in my house to use the Sophie stamp!! They are perfect for little girls who are interested in paper crafting with their mommies.

Please enjoy the projects created by the rest of my design team mates. Here is the full line-up:
