Back 2 School

I have seen so many back to school cards lately. I just had to get in on the fun. I knew I wanted to do a chalkboard. Then, this morning while watching Busytown (which I love), I got the idea to include Lowly Worm. The alphabet banner, apple and Lowly are computer generated. I used black paper and wood grained designer paper for the chalk board. I wrote the sentiment with a white gel pen.  I'll be giving this to Jack's teachers when he starts preschool next Tuesday.

With God, All Things Are Possible

I just joined another stamping community called Christian Paper Crafts. I made this card for two challenges. I think I'll be selling this at the church bookstore.

A Friend Loves At All Times

Here's my latest card. I CASEd this from Kristina Werner. She is an awesome card crafter with lots of tutorials on her blog. I just love her style. BTW, CASE is card crafter lingo for Copy And Share Everything. Enjoy and God bless.

Sweet Ladybug Picnic

This is for a card challenge.  The idea is to create a card using the layout given to you. The sentiment is from 2007 Stampin' Up! It reads "You're so sweet."

Hang In There!

Aren't owls adorable? These owls are by Inkadinkadoo. (I think). I stamped the images using ink from Memento. The big owl is stamped upside down to look like he is hanging from a branch. I handwrote the sentiment with my cool new white gel pen, which I also used to create the faux stitching around the edges. Once I actually get some people to follow my blog, I'm going to issue a challenge to create a card with at least one image stamped upside down!

Welcome to My Blog

Hi everyone! Welcome to my new blog. I attempted to blog a couple years ago (a few of you may remember) but I didn't follow through with it. I'm going to try this again.

This site is primarily for my favorite hobby - making cards and other paper crafts. So far, I have only posted work I've created, but my hope is to post tutorials, card challenges and other information valuable to the crafting community.

If you're wondering about the name of my blog, it's a play on words. My first name is Annette (A.) and my last name is Witherspoon (Spoon). You can figure out the rest. ☺

Enjoy!
Annette ♥

Thierry Noir Inspired Card

This card is not my typical creation. Last week, the family took a trip to the Wright Patterson National Air Force museum (which is a really cool place, btw). In the Cold War gallery, part of the Berlin wall was displayed (see pic below). The artwork intrigued me, so I researched it. The art was created by German Thierry Noir. I created this card using his work as an inspiration. I gave it to John (DH) for his birthday. :-)

Wonderful Friend

I made this card for my first ever challenge, which was to create a card inspired by a belt buckle. Here's the buckle.

Just for the Halibut

This is the silliest card I've ever made. It was for another card challenge, which was to create a card inspired by the Dr. Seuss book "One Fish, Two Fish, Red Fish, Blue Fish." Love that book!! I found a fish pattern online, cut them out by hand, glued on a googly eye, dry embossed the back ground and created the sentiment on my computer!! It was fun!!

Rainbow Rebus Card

I recently started participating in card challenges. This card was made for a Rebus challenge. I used my Fiskars circle cutter for the rainbow, cut the clouds out by hand and die cut the letters. I dry embossed the blue background with the Swiss dots embossing folder.

Blue and Green Happy Day Card

Masculine Hello Card

This is my attempt at making a more masculine card. My cards always turn out very frou-frou!! I think I managed to keep this one toned down.

Thinking of You Peel Off

The flower is a foil peel off sticker. I love the effect you get from using a different colored back ground behind the sticker.

Flower Tag

Brown and Pink

I Am With You

Sing to the Lord

I love this card. I think I sold it at my church's bookstore.

Three Framed Tulips

John (My DH) bought me a bunch of crafting supplies a couple Christmases ago. I couldn't wait to play with them and this is what I made that day. I gave it to him for his birthday several months later.

The Lord is Great

I still have this card laying around the house. I heat embossed the cross scripture and used chalk ink for the Easter sentiment.

Flower Pot Mother's Day Card

I made two of these cards - one for my mom and one for my m-i-l. The flowers are attached to a card inside the flower pot. Pull the card out and you can write a personal note inside. I found a tutorial on YouTube on how to make a flower pot card. I used punches, die cuts, and all sorts of embellishments for this one.

Bee Happy

I was very pleased with how the colors and patterns turned out. This is a stamped image (I forget the manufacturer). I colored the bee with Prismacolor pencils and blended with Gamsol oil. I die cut the word Bee and used happy from another stamp.
This inside reads "Happy Mothers Day." I found out an adorable little girl at my church bought it from the bookstore to give to her mom. So sweet!

Thinking of You in Pink

This is a card I made and sold at my church's bookstore.

You Make My Heart Sing

I created this a few months ago, before I knew how to take pics of my cards. I think I sold this card at the church bookstore.
